MRC connect to remote clients
Hi,
We use Microsoft DirectAccess for remote clients so that they're tunneled through as if they were actually on the network.
I'd like to be able to remotely connect to these clients but it doesn't work. What do I need to do to?
Thanks

mini remote control 12.1.0.34 double click not working
So far both the windows server 2016 machines that I've upgraded the MRC agent to version 12.1.0.34 on have the issue that the mouse double click does not work in certain applications, including iis manager and computer management, but it does work in windows file explorer.
Any idea on a fix?
Event Logs
Hi
Our IT support team is using Dameware Mini Remote Control version 6.9.0.4 and we would like to see logs on host where the dameware configuration file has been changed.
The change of the configuration file is related to setting is related to "Permission Required : Yes/NO".
We would like to see the log of the user who has changed the above setting from Yes to No.
Does Dameware capture such logs?

Anand
Souris désaligné / Mouse cursor unaligned (Dameware)
Bonjour,
Hi,
I work in an I.T team and since the day i started with this team we have a recuring issue with the mouse that is not pointing what we're trying to click on it's ''off scale''. Our users have similar setups, two external screens connected to a docking station. It happen with both windows 7/10.
We have tried to change the screen resolution to force it on the user's computer, same thing. Also tried to switch from full screen to minimized and back tu full screen, same thing.
Merci.
Unable to Install Dameware 12.1
I recently had this problem :
"I am receiving errors when I trey to remote in to PCs on my network. They are all part of the domain, and I have an administrator account on the domain and the local PCs.
I have tried the trouble shooting steps in the FAQ articles but they didn't help.
If I use Windows NT Challenge to login I receive the -2146893044 error. If I use Encrypted Windows Login I receive the 1326 error.
This was working fine last week, and I have checked there were no network or security changes on the network over the weekend.
I had version 12.0.5 which wasn't working so I downloaded V12.1 and it still doesn't work."
After some logs and back and forwards with support I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. This fixed the problem.
Temporarily as it turned out ... :-(
Today I had the same problem and could not remote to any PCs. I logged the following case:
Dameware MRC stopped connecting to clients, with the same error as in my last ticket. Last time a reinstall fixed it.
So I removed Dameware from the Control Panel, deleted all SolarWInds directories (Program files and Program Data), rebooted the PC and tried to reinstall the 12.1 program I had just freshly downloaded.
It gets part way through then I receive the error "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
I click OK, it rolls back the install and then asks for my email address.
How do I reinstall this please? I cannot support my users without the use of this program.
Has anyone come across this problem?? Know how to fix it??
Message was edited by: Murray Trickett Just after posting this I received a reply from Solarwinds support. They sent me the link o the license manager. Removed that properly and the Dameware installed fine.
Dameware Remote Support
So I am looking to deploy Remote Support to our company using the centralised option. I currently have a test environment set up but I do have a question though about Unattended Support.
Using the MSI Builder on the Administration Server I have set up multiple MSI packages which I intend to push out through SCCM. The different packages relate to specific domain and authorised users allowed to offer support.
The issue I have comes with unattended support. There are a number of users that work outside the domain in the field. It appears I can only connect to these if they download the MSI package from the Proxy Server externally. When I do this it then defaults the settings on the dameware client on the user workstation and adds this to unattended support.
Is there a way to push out the unattended package internally to the domain through SCCM and also have the ability to modify the package?
Since installing 12.1 get a nuisance popup about active keyboard layout.
We've been using DWMRC for years, since the 7.0 days. I was using 12.0 for awhile but recently updated to 12.1. Now every time I connect to anyones machine for support I get a very annoying nuisance pop up that never appeared before. It says "The remote system is using the same active keyboard layout as your local system. If keyboard layouts are likely to change, we suggested disabling keyboard translation support. Would you like to disable support? Yes / No". No matter what I click here the message keeps coming up if I connect to the same machine or different machine.
How can I get this very annoying and unproductive message to stop, without downgrading back to 12.0? I'm not even sure what this message is supposed to convey. As a user all I care about is that I can connect on quickly when needed. I could give two sh*ts about some kind of keyboard layout... that's really irrelevant IMO.

Dameware 11.2.0.91 centralized, Remote Clipboard broke Win10 1803+
Hello,
My company uses Dameware 11.2.0.91 Centralized.
Everything was working great until we updated to Windows 10 build 1803. (Build 1903 also affected). Now we can't copy/paste from our computers to the Dameware MRC Session.
Remote Clipboard is enabled, I've restarted RDPCLIP, tried to turn on discovery services and Disabled the GPO about "Do not allow clipboard redirection"
Nothing has worked so far on all our computers.
We can't upgrade to Dameware 12 because the server version isn't there, and our engineers take time with this (it's a very large company)..
Anyone had this issue?
Dameware MRC ADMX Files
Hi all,
Does anyone already created an ADMX Template for GPOs for Dameware? There it is already documented: DameWare Mini Remote Control Group Policy Administrative Templates
File: minirc.admx
But i cannot find the download anywhere

Dameware MRC Permission Required Problem
Since some week, we have massive problems with our Dameware MRC Configuration.
Although everything is set correct (Registry HKLM via GPO/GPP), Dameware asks for an "Accept".
In the registry you can see, "Permission Required = 0" and also in the Settings dialoag, everything seems to be correct.
In the Tasktray you see always "Permission Required" - see screenshots. If we restart the service, it is working for some seconds. After 5-10 seconds, Dameware shows "Dameare is reconfiguring" and instant it switches to "Permission Required".
Dameware MRC Version: 12.1.0.64 (Hotfix 1) - Also tested with Hotfix 2: Same Problem
Windows Version Windows 10 - 1803 (v17134) - 64-bit
Does somebody have an idea?

DameVare 7 Version
Hello!
I have a license for a 30 user of DameWare Mini Remote Control v7.0. What is the latest version I can use and where can I download it?
Thanks you.
Windows firewall rules for Dameware Mini Remote Control
The client msi install creates two rules that allow the service network access on all network profiles (domain, private, public):
"Dameware Mini Remote Control Service"
"Dameware Mini Remote Control Service GPO"
These rules are identical except that the first allows editing so that one can choose on which network profile access is allowed; the second displays "This rule has been applied by the system administrator and cannot be modified." This is on a manually installed client, not pushed or configured via domain policies. I would like to allow connections only on the domain profile but could not find where these settings are controlled in the msi builder app.
Beyond Frustrated
We are trying to evaluate the dameware software. We are struggling with getting parts of it to work so we can test it out. Why can't I get any kind of support to help with this?
Multiple instances of Dameware do not "reconnect" to the same computer
Doing computer setup I may run 8 instances of Dameware MRC connected to 8 different machines. Lets call the computer names PC1 through PC8 in this example.
Say I'm finishing up some windows updates on these pc's and I go to restart them. Obviously after the "restarting" animation, Dameware disconnects and its just a white box. I then go to hit the reconnect icon a few minutes later when I think the machine should be booted back up, but dameware usually CHANGES the computer name and reconnects to a different one of the 8.
This is a hassle especially if some are rebooting at different times or are at different parts of implementation, because say I hit reconnect on PC2, for some reason it may try to reconnect to PC8 which I already have a connection in another dameware window and then I get the box asking if I want to ask for a shared session.
Its a terrible experience and I wish there was some way to get Dameware's reconnect button to actually reconnect to the computer name that is in the windows titlebar. I'm on 12.1.0.34 64-bit and we are using Windows 10 in our environment.
I just did a test for example, I was connected on computer 844. I purposely disconnected dameware and then hit reconnect. It started to connect to computer 748! I saw the name change in the titlebar from 844 to 748! For some reason the reconnect button is trying to connect to another computer, possibly the last one I connected to.
Remoting over to user's machine with monitors in a parallel position - any ideas?
Hi!
We have a few users who like to position their monitors in a parallel position - which work for them, but when we want to dameware over to help troubleshoot or remotely work on their computers it is really hard to see their screen when doing so. We use dual monitors and some of the users have both monitors in the parallel position. It makes the screen entirely too small to work with - it is sometimes easier to go to their desk to work, but not really a good option.
Has anyone come up with a way to work with this issue. I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thank you.
Regards, !
Central Server - Active Directory SSO
Hi,
We use Central Server and it's been working absolute fine.
I've moved the Central Server install to a new server (deactivated licenses on old one first) but clients are getting this:
"dameware central server was unable to validate entered credentials"
I use the AD Import task to bring in the users I want and have given them access.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Dameware Mini Remote Control Technician Access Log
Does the DameWare Server Administration Console keep log saved anywhere the can tell us how many time a technician has used Dameware Mini Remote Control in general aside from the log file configured in the MSI builder?
